Rattan chair

13032007166

When i ran my own id firm last time, one of these chairs costs more than rm500 a piece. Our local manufacturers have done a really good job of mass producing them for a fraction of what we otherwise have to fork out. Some of them may be nice to look at, but may not be comfortable to sit on. This is a fine example of an uncomfortable one. It may be similar in terms of design, but the tension of the rattan seat just isnt like the real thing. It's a bit sunken making the bottom of your thighs pressing onto the horizontal bar on the front of the seat cutting off blood circulation. If you're skinny like me, then you'll feel it even more.

Lights

Nice eh. Lends an olden charm to the overall ambient of the coffee shop. I like sitting inside, but i hate those flies that keeps buzzing around me as i eat. Even though the Kopitiam has an insect catcher in its premise, there are still many flies. I think it's got to do with the garbage behind the shop. They should have them cleared more often and keep the area clean and covered at all times. I wonder how the house behind the shop can tolerate this. I'm sure those flies have invaded their house too.

Chicken feet

This is what we found sticking out of our plate of Hakka noodle. Isn't it vulgar? We didn't know the shop serves chicken feet with their noodles. So, we just picked it out. I seldom eat these, neither does hubs. The kids, lol... NEVER!!! But many people like eating these and even turn them into a delicacy. Thailand is famous for their pickled chicken feet. Have you tried those before. It has a very tangy taste. As for this, they shall remain on the table top until they come and clear them away.

Joss-stick urn

My gawd!! It's full and my neighbour bothered to throw away the ends. And yet keep adding more to it every single day, lol. What a sight. When i was a kid, i used to play with these joss sticks. And we do have lots of it cos my mom loves to pray. It's a ritual thing for her. I'll pile them up and burn them outside at the garden. But if my mom ever found out that i did this, i'll get whacked, lol. Hey, iwas a kids then, k. That aside, i do like the hand-painted designs on the urn. I'm good at art, but i wish i can paint like that too. Wait... maybe not... I might end up painting them for a living :O

Wet mail

This is one of those days when you just feel like strangling the postman. The letters were too big for our mailbox and he just slot them between the gaterails, wtf. It rained before we got home and wet everything. If these were important document, they might have got damaged by all the water. I'm going to get hubby to give him a stern warning next day. If this happens again, we're going to file a report at the post office. Cant let this happen.

Ant hill

Saw this anthill when out house-hunting. Found it under a plant. Isnt it beautifully made? There were so many ants crawling in and out, in and out. It's pretty mesmerizing as they were carrying food into the anthill. Not a moment lapse. In fact, this ant was trying its best to drag the leaf into the hole. And he did manage to after a while. I saw a few ants came to help him. Seems like they do communicate with each other and very helpful too. I seldom see humans like this .Must learn from them.

Cili padi

This is really hot stuff. Cili padi in soysauce. A must have item of nearly every Malaysian during mealtime. HOT HOT HOT!! I've never really liked eating Cilipadi as i find its green taste a bit weird. It's not too much about the heat it generates on the tongue. I just dont like the taste, lol. But i do like sambal belacan. Hmmmm... But i cant take too much of that too as i'm afraid of getting asore throat after that.

Bread squares

A piece of untoasted wholemeal bread neatly cut into 16 small squares for easy consumption. This is how my kid likes it. I never let them eat the burnt sides. I will cut them off from each piece carefully before i cut them into smaller pieces. If i intend to toast them, i will do so once i've finished toasting them. Small pieces of bread are easier for kids to handle. I dont have to worry if they'll choke on them or not.

Mickey Mouse Sandals

A pair of Mickey Mouse kiddie sandals in blue. Funny shoe design. You have to lift up the top flap to slip it onto your kids foot. The flap is fastened with velcro though. Convenient. Easy enough for any kid learning to put his shoes on. I've been teaching my kid how to put them on for a while. Took him quite some time to get it right. But then, it's a big too big for him a the moment. His feet is at those between-sizes stages. Neither here nor there, lol. He did manage in the end. Good job!!! Big boy diiii......

Rose Tea

A pot of rose tea for good skin. Very fragrant and sweet. Leaves a long lingering smell of roses in your breath. I drink this whenever i blog at night. It helps me relax. The tea has a pale pinkish brownish color. It's very good for blood circulation, meaning good for the heart. I have other teas too but i wanted rose tea just now. This teapot belongs to my in-laws. I havent bought one for myself yet cos i've not found one that i really like. I want to go check out the Thermos brand teapot that has a sieve in it. I think that'll be better for me as i sit the air-conditioned room all day long. That'll keep my tea warm for me.
